Collectible Authentic Scrimshaw

Scrimshaw is the name give to  scrollwork, engravings, and carvings done in bone or ivory.  Usually items referred to the work done by whalers.  The making of Scrimshaw began on whaling ships 1745 to 1759 on the Pacific ocean and survived until the ban on commercial whaling.  The practices survives as a hobby and trade for most collectors present day.
